64 Student Athletes sign up for 2011!

We had an excellent turn out at our sign-ups for the 2011 season. For the High School team we had 13 boys and 13 girls sign up which is the biggest turn out for Addison Cross Country in over a decade! The middle school team had 38 sign ups with 19 coming from incoming 6th graders, 8 incoming 7th graders, and 11 incoming 8th graders! If all of the sign ups stay on for the season it will be the biggest turn out for Cross Country in a very long time. All returning athletes should be proud of the tradition they are building for this team.

UPDATE * Eight Teams Signed On For Keunner So Far!

Great news! I sent out the invite for the Addison Keunner Cross Country Invitational yesterday afternoon and we already have four teams signed on. Here are the teams we have so far:

We are hoping to have a lot more teams sign on but this is a great start!

Couch to 5K Plan

I have attached our "Couch to 5K Plan". The plan is based on a few different plans but mainly the "Run Less, Run Faster" 5K plan. You start out running 1 minute and walking 4 minutes until you build up to running a full 5K with no walking.

Cross Country Camp

The highlight of the year! Seriously, there are people on the team just so they can go to camp.

Camp is held at Somerset Beach Campground and we stay in their fabulous lodges. Food and lodging is provided.

We arrive on August 14, 2011 at 5:00pm and leave August 18, 2011 at 10:00am.

The cost of camp is $80 as long as you worked at our Summer 5K races AND you put in 2 days of work on the Cross Country course. If you don't fulfill these requirements the cost is $120.

Results for the Special Olympics Opportunity Walk-Run-Roll

 

Here are the results for the Special Olympics Opportunity Walk-Run-Roll. It was a great run for a great cause. The organizers estimate they raised $4500! All proceeds benefit Special Olympians in the Lenawee and Hillsdale counties.
